| M.Sc. Environment Science and Climate Change Management Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Technology and Science |
The first of its kind in the India, this taught Masters programme offered at the Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Technology and Science, addresses some of the most important issues affecting society; namely, present and future climate changes and their economic and social impacts. It is closely informed by expertise in the field and the India’s-leading Climate change specialist Prof S.P. Singh and team. |
Climate change is likely to maintain its prominence in all areas of human activity over the coming century, as well as increasingly influence aspects of resource scarcity and risk management. It is clear that there will be increasing commercial, political and academic demand for graduates trained to a high degree in climate science. |
The M.Sc. programme is aimed at both recent graduates wishing to specialise in climate change and sustainability, and professionals wishing to extend their knowledge and expertise or seeking a career change. The programme explores the relationship between climate, hazards and risk, with an emphasis on applying scientific knowledge to environmental management problems, and is of direct relevance to careers in insurance, industry and research. |
The programme has an interdisciplinary approach, reflecting the integration of skills and knowledge that sustainable development requires. It is a semester programme, having both taught and research components. |
Career opportunities in this wide and growing field are numerous: in industry, national and local government, utilities, academia, consultancies and environmental agencies. |
